Majoring in Architecture

With being an architecture student, I have a lot of time consuming projects and assignments.

This is my third year of college and my third semester of being an architecture student.

For those of you who have already been in college know that it is definitely a big step up from high school. More assignments, harder classes, harder to make friends, more time consuming classes, and the list could go on.

So for those of you who are thinking about getting into architecture I have a few tips to help you in your first year.

The architecture classes you take right away will be drawing based. So if you really hate drawing it'll be a bit of a hustle for you. However, I loved to draw and I really enjoyed the process of each assignment and learning about all the little techniques.

You might get a drawing assignment that your professor gives you a week to complete. you look at it and might think it'll take you and hour or two to complete so you start it a day before it's due. But what you'll learn in this major is that these things take time, and that project you thought would take two hours actually took you six.

So it may take time to get used to these long assignments, and a great tip is to start it earlier than later and do an hour or two of work every time you sit down to draw.
