The Happy Healthy Architect

This semester of college I was told to start a blog. I was a little nervous on where to start and didn't think I knew what I was doing. But as the semester went on I feel that I have grown and learned a lot about blogging and what to blog about. I enjoy reading other's blogs and learning from those, as well as looking at ideas on Pinterest as that's where I get most of my information/ ideas from.  The first few weeks of the assignment I was a little upset about it because I felt that it was pointless and that it was just busy work. While I still don't really enjoy this assignment, I like it a lot more than the first week and I think my blogs have gotten a bit stronger. In the future I plan to e an architect, and using a blog could help grow my business as well as inform others of architectural and home design ideas.  As I end this semester of college I really start to think about my future and what I plan to do this summer. I work as a server at night and a bar in my hometown, but I wanted to do something that somewhat related to what I want to do with my future. Being in the Architecture program it is hard to get jobs in that field when you don't have your degree yet. So doing internships can be helpful as well as just making yourself as prepared as you can be for your upcoming years! Along with serving this summer I plan to start selling some of my artwork and do some carpentry crafts on the side to get some experience using different tools and making pieces that fit my style and could possibly be used in future home designs! I've always been a crafty person and I actually used to paint and sell rocks when I was a kid. And I used to paint wood signs and give them to family member on special occasions.  When one thinks about the word Architecture they usually think about buildings, homes, artwork. But Architecture is more than that. Its beauty, design, art, connection, history, cities, towns, culture, and more. Architecture can vary so much depending on location, style, material, and can really depend on the architect's style and culture, as well as the purpose of the building. These are all forms of architecture and they are all so different. And what's even crazier is that these all exists at the same time. See, even though times change, architecture often stays the same, and it would be extremely difficult to change all the architecture in the world because some of these building have been around for hundreds of years.  You also have to think about how long it takes to make some of the buildings.
