Easiest Home Projects

Image
DIY Home projects can be the best way to upgrade your home to your liking, for a fraction of the price. It can also be a really fun activity and can add value to your home! A great example of a home design DIY is wood beams. Adding wood accents to a home is totally my type of style. It can add warmth to a space and give the room texture. The only downside to this is lots of wood can be expensive, but lots of places have scrap wood you can use to make it a cheaper project. Picture ledges are one of the easiest project you can make, and one of the cheapest. All you need is three pieces of wood, you can use different sizes to your liking and use different colors to create the ideal match to your home.  This one can add so much to a home and is such a fin space to sit and relax with family. It is probably the hardest to build out of the three but there are lots of Youtube videos that can show you where to start and how to build the hanging bench. Outdoor furniture and furnishings can r...

Interior Design Favorites

Image
Starting off strong with on of the best rooms in the home, the kitchen. Interior Design is truly what can make a house, into a home. The way you design and keep your house can say a lot about a person. When designing a space I like to keep it bright and open. Trying to have as much natural light as possible and using house plants to make the space feel clean. I also really love mixing white toned colors with different types of woods.  Here is a great example if a living room, kitchen set up the I just love. The way the colors mix from the white, to the leather brown, to the light wood accents just makes the space feel clean, organized, and modern. As you can also see, they set up the living room so everything is balanced and parallel. While doing so it makes the living room feel separate from the kitchen, creating two separate spaces. Lastly I chose this master bedroom. This is a very large space but luckily they filled it very well so it doesn't feel too empty. Again ...

Getting through college

Image
I figured I change it up a bit today with what I talk about. I always talk about school and my classes but I want to talk about how I get myself through college and keep a mostly positive mindset. As someone who commutes to college every day I spend a lot of my day on the road or in class, so something I do to get me through the day is either making or buying a coffee or energy drink to get me through the day and it just gets me in a better mood. I know caffeine isn't for everyone so maybe just making yourself some sort of fun drink or getting a water bottle filled for the day is all you need to spark some happiness. Another thing that truly makes me feel great is making sure I'm eating healthy and getting in enough protein. Your diet can have such an impact on how you feel throughout the day I feel so much better when I eat nourishing whole foods. Along with eating good foods I love to workout. While some days I am really tired and I don't make it to the gym, most days I...

Types of Residential Architecture

Image
Residential Architecture is by far my favorite. Looking at different homes and how they're designed just makes me happy, each home has unique features and you can do so many different things when designing your home. However, lots of cities build residential neighborhoods where all the homes look the same or they have no design elements and are just built poorly. I hope to some day change this and be able to create homes with meaning and functionality. Building a house is one things, but building a home is what really makes someone look forward to being in their house. Giving it design and color, creating spaces that fit a families needs, and maybe adding a few fun elements like secret rooms, high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, porch swings, kitchen pantries, and the list goes on. My personal favorite are modern farmhouses. As well as modern Scandinavian, contemporary country, and rustic modern ranch homes. These just feel the most like me and I love the use of wood and bric...
